Robert Sanders – 3rd Prize 2017

Robert Sanders (17) studies violin with Robert Hanford, Concertmaster of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and faculty member at Northwestern University, and has performed in master classes for esteemed artists such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Augustin Hadelich, Sarah Chang, and the Zora and Ariel String Quartets. Robert has won awards at numerous solo festivals in the Chicagoland area, including the Confucius, DePaul, and Walgreens competitions. As a chamber musician, he has advanced to the semi-final round of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and was the winner of the 2016 and 2017 Discover Competitions along with the 2017 WDAV Competition. Robert will be attending the Eastman School of Muisc to pursue a degree in Violin Performance this coming fall.
