Dindin Jingyi Wang – 2nd Prize 2022 Young Artist
Dindin Jingyi Wang, born in Changsha, China, began learning the violin at the age of 3. Since 2021, she has been studying with Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She previously studied with Margaret Batjer at the Colburn Academy as a Kohl Scholar and with Fintan Murphy in Melbourne, Australia. At the age of 12, she became the youngest ever winner of the Kendall National Violin Competition in Australia and was also the recipient of the Richard Mills Prize at the Melbourne Recital Centre Bach Competition. Dindin has participated in the Morningside Music Bridge on a full scholarship and has taken masterclasses with Hilary Hahn and Midori.
