Haerim Oh – 2nd Prize Winner – Senior Artist 2024
Born and raised in Daejeon, South Korea, Haerim Oh started playing violin when she was only four. Acclaimed for her brilliant and passionate playing, Ms. Oh won various awards and prizes, such as being selected for the Excellent Performance of Virtuoso Pieces and Final Award at Munetsugu Angel Violin Competition in 2015, Special prize at Ysaye International music competition in 2022, and winning the first place in Ewha Music Competition in 2017, New England Conservatory Concerto Competition 2021-2022. She has also performed with various orchestras worldwide, performing as a soloist with Bucheon Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Teleradio-Moldova, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, and New England Conservatory Symphony. She was also selected to perform a solo recital at the Seoul Kumho Art Hall in 2012, and has participated in numerous festivals such as Ravinia Steans Institute of Music 2023-2024, 8th Emirates International Peace Music Festival, SUMMIT Music Festival, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival throughout the past decade. As a young, blooming musician, Ms. Oh has been actively participating in various international violin competitions, such as Queen Elisabeth Competition, Isang Yun International Violin Competition, Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, and Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition for Young Musicians. Ms. Oh finished her Bachelor and Master of Music in violin performance at New England Conservatory under Miriam Fried, and she is currently pursuing her Post-Baccalaureate degree at Curtis Institute of Music under the tutelage of Midori Goto.
